A week of big savings is on the horizon for Amazon shoppers. The online retailer’s Big Deal Days will run from Oct. 8 through Oct. 9, with early deals available before the sale officially begins. Over the next few days, you can find deals on everything from home essentials to tech gadgets — or even get a headstart on your holiday shopping list.
But if you’re an avid Amazon Prime member, you may benefit even more with a Prime Visa credit card. This rewards card offers solid savings on Amazon purchases (during the sale and beyond) and rewards in other everyday categories.
Save more with Prime Visa during Amazon Prime Big Deal Days
These are some of the most significant ways you can score big savings during this week’s Amazon Prime sale with your Prime Visa card:
Welcome offer
Right now, you’ll get a $150 Amazon gift card immediately after you’re approved for the Prime Visa card. This is in line with other cash-back cards today, but it’s one of the highest we’ve seen from this Amazon retail credit card.
This week, the most significant benefit for new cardholders is instant access to the welcome offer without meeting a minimum spending requirement. If you plan to shop Big Deal Days, $150 can go a long way toward your overall purchase total.
Cash-back rewards
Prime Visa earns 5% back on all your Amazon.com purchases, which means you’ll save another 5% on top of Amazon Prime Big Deal Days sale prices.
During the sale, you’ll earn even more rewards on select purchases. Some items earn a “Prime Card Bonus” worth up to 10%, 15%, or even 20% back on sale prices. A few eligible purchases include Le Creuset cookware, Canon cameras and lenses, Bissell cleaners, Amazon Fire tablets, and more.
The boosted rewards include the 5% you already earn on Amazon purchases with your card, so the percent back listed on the page is the total amount you’ll get.
Long-term Prime Visa benefits
If you’re already an Amazon Prime member, there’s much to like about the Prime Visa even beyond the short-term Big Deal Days savings.
The Prime Visa has no annual fee beyond your Prime Membership cost ($14.99 per month or $139 annually). There are also no foreign transaction fees if you use it when traveling internationally.
The card’s ongoing rewards are one of the biggest perks — and they’re surprisingly flexible for a co-branded store card. There are plenty of additional rewards to maximize outside of Amazon spending.
In addition to 5% back at Amazon.com, you’ll earn 5% on related purchases at Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market. Plus, earn 5% cash back on travel booked through Chase Travel; 2% cash back at restaurants, gas stations, and local transit and commuting (including rideshares); and 1% cash back on all other purchases. If you don’t have a rewards credit card for dining out or filling up your car’s gas tank, the Prime Visa could make a solid choice.
In addition to ongoing rewards, earn boosted discounts on Amazon.com purchases throughout the year — not just during the Big Deals Days event. Look out for offers worth up to 10% back on rotating items and categories with your Prime Visa card.
You can redeem the cash back you earn toward future Amazon purchases with no minimum redemption. You’ll see your rewards balance at checkout and can use it toward a portion of your purchase or the entire amount. Other redemption options include cash back, gift cards, or Chase Travel bookings.
