Sen. Marco Rubio, republican from Florida argued that Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democrats lost the presidential election because they think Americans are “dummies.”
“Their attitude is, ‘You guys are a bunch of dummies. We’re really smart people. We know what’s best for you,’” Rubio said Thursday on Fox News. “You don’t even know what’s best for yourselves, and that’s why they lost this election, and that’s why they’re going to continue to lose elections.”
Rubio celebrated President-elect Trump’s victory and argued the Democratic Party should reevaluate.
“They are a resistance to the American people that just voted Donald Trump into office overwhelmingly,” he said.
Democrats are left pointing fingers and scrambling for answers over what went wrong in the presidential election, particularly over the economy, and in both the Senate and House.
The searing loss exposed divisions in the Democratic Party. Progressives like Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) argue their party lost its voice and failed to provide working-class voters a message.
